Dr. Med. Borut Banič
Borut Banič graduated in medicine from the University of Bern in 2003 and received his doctorate in the same year. First working as a resident at the University Clinic for Plastic and Hand Surgery in Bern, he obtains the specialist title in plastic surgery in 2010 - whereupon he is promoted to senior physician. In April 2013, he opened his own practice.
Borut Banič always takes the necessary time, does everything he can to advise patients comprehensively and take away their fear of the procedure. He enjoys working with people, especially the moment when someone leaves the practice beaming after the procedure.
Prof. Dr. Med. Andrej Banič
After graduating from medical school in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Andrej Banič specialized in general and plastic surgery. From 1984, he held a senior position at the University Hospital in Kuwait. In 1989, he was appointed to the Inselspital in Bern to the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The following year he obtained his PhD in Linkjöping, Sweden. In 1993 he received a lectureship, the Venia Docendi (Privatdozent) from the University of Bern. Four years later he obtained his professorship. Between 2000 and 2013, Andrej Banič served as Clinic Director and Chief Physician of the University Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Inselspital Bern.
After retiring, he opened his own private practice for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in 2013 together with his son, Borut Banič, MD.
His special interests include reconstructive surgery (tumor, accident), microsurgery, hand surgery, surgery of the head and neck, and burn surgery.
Andrej Banič has years of experience in complex cases and is also familiar with the latest techniques and innovations in plastic surgery. He is an attending physician at Bern Salem Hospital Hirslanden.
