Facelift, Necklift

Over the years the skin and other tissues in the face lose elasticity resulting in wrinkles and folds of excess skin. This is most visible around the lower jaw. With time, these wrinkles, especially around the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds) become deeper and the fatty tissue sags around the cheekbones. These processes are accelerated by increased exposure to sun and cigarette smoke.

A facelift can bring youthful look back to an aging face. It can be combined with additional procedures such as a neck lift, eyelid correction and liposuction of the face and neck. It is performed under local or general anesthesia.

The incision is made in the hairline in the temporal region, extending further in front of the ear, around the earlobe and continues behind the ears into the hair.

The skin is lifted, tissue and skin are tightened and the skin is meticulously sutured. The scar in front of the ear lies in a natural fold and is later hardly visible.

Swelling and bluish discoloration must be expected to last for at least 1 week.
