Yes, we’re talking about bunny lines: those fine diagonal wrinkles that appear on either side of the nose when we scrunch, laugh, or squint. They’re called bunny lines because they mimic the little furrows a rabbit makes when it twitches its nose. And once you notice them – you’ll start seeing them everywhere.

They tend to deepen with age and repeated movement. But fear not. Bunny lines might be charming on actual rabbits (and chocolate ones), but if they’re bothering you in the mirror, there’s an elegant, minimal solution.

Botulinum toxin-A: smooth in small doses

The well-established wrinkle treatment botulinum toxin-A, often known by brand names like Botox® or Vistabel®, can do more than soften foreheads or crow’s feet. Carefully placed injections around the upper sides of the nose can relax the muscle movement that causes bunny lines – without affecting your natural expressions.

When done correctly, the aim is never to freeze your face. It’s to soften, rebalance, and bring attention back to your eyes and natural glow. You’ll still smile, scrunch, and sparkle. Just without the extra creases.

A gentle refresh for spring

There’s something fitting about discussing bunny lines at Easter. After all, spring is the season of renewal and subtle transformation. It’s not about reinventing yourself – just freshening up what’s already there.

Whether it’s your first consultation or you’ve been thinking about wrinkle treatment for a while, smoothing bunny lines is one of the more gentle, low-downtime options available. It’s a favourite among those who want a subtle shift – something that makes them look just a little more relaxed, a little more refreshed.

Speaking of lines, bunnies, and noses

Some lines are more famous than others. One of them: «What’s up, Doc?» – the signature catchphrase of Bugs Bunny, and the title of a fast-paced 1972 comedy full of physical gags and mistaken identity starring Barbra Streisand.

Barbra, famously, never changed her nose – despite immense pressure early in her career. That decision became a symbol of individuality and confidence. And it still resonates today.

We’ll explore what that means in the next blog – when aesthetic medicine is less about changing who you are, and more about choosing what helps you feel like your best self.

Stay tuned… or should we say: Looney Tuned. 🎵

So, whether your Easter is filled with chocolate bunnies, spring sunshine, or classic film nights, remember: a few bunny lines are perfectly natural. But if they’re starting to bother you – well… you know what to ask:

«What’s up, Doc?»

I’d be happy to advise you personally in my practice in Bern.

Bunny ears optional.

That’s all, folks.
